A Warm Welcome to Kathy White Yoga !
This is a loving space for you to connect with Kathy and her teaching of Yoga.
From March 18th 2020 ALL CLASSES ARE NOW ONLINE
Kathy White has been teaching yoga for over 20 years.
She teaches a very refined, beautiful and powerful practice that directly addresses the issues of a modern western lifestyle.
In her classes you are invited to become aware of the stresses in your daily life and the effect they have on your body and mind. The practice she teaches will deliberately and systematically help to restore your natural potential and flow, so your body and mind, your heart and soul can be functioning at their optimal levels.
Yoga challenges what you think you know about aging. It restores and revitalizes. It addresses the joints on a physical level, it rebalances your nervous system on an emotional and mental level and it brings heightened awareness, mindfulness and an ever deepening sense of presence on the spiritual level.
The ancient roots of yoga are about bringing about better alignment in the body, to create a body that can restore itself even while aging. The process brings mental precision and awareness. And healthy vital connections to yourself, to life and to the nature of consciousness.
Kathy teaches using her own unique, magic style using the 100 Kaiut Method and Yoga Mais (which evolved out of Kaiut) class plans for the sequences of postures in her classes. She was originally trained in Hatha Yoga with the Sivananda Yoga Organization in 2000. From 2004, her main influence, training and inspiration came from Scaravelli teachers. (Vanda Scaravelli was a personal student of Mr Iyengar.) In 2017 Kathy took the 300 hour Kaiut teacher training, becoming certified in 2018. In 2020 she took her first Yoga Mais training with Cris Sprengle. Read more about Kathy's Yoga journey here
In a class with Kathy you will be skillfully guided to uncover the rigidity and blockages in your body. Unlike other approaches that might suggest you try and avoid all pain in your practice, Kathy will invite you to actively seek restrictions and tensions in your body and to find ways to release them without aggression or force by using time, gravity and awareness.
Once you have exposed a tightness, restriction or block you are then invited to put as much of your awareness into the restriction as you can, to feel and explore it deeply and gently. Often people think yoga is about stretching or being super flexible. Classes with Kathy will systematically and specifically takes you deep inside your joints. Hips, knees, shoulders, spine, ankles, neck, elbows, wrists, fingers and toes - every joint in the body is met.
Many students report having radical results in a very short time.
And the goal is not for quick fixes. This is #yogaforlife

There is a paradox within Yoga.
Yoga is something we do with our body, but it's not a physical activity. Yoga is about how we can establish ourselves in the present moment with awareness and without stress. The practice was never about stretching muscles or building strength, when we stretch like that we make the joints unstable and therefore the mind is unstable. Yoga is about cultivating awareness that helps us understand that everything we do with the body can help us lead a longer, better life. My teacher - Francisco Kaiut - says
Yoga is a chronic state of presence with emotional coherence. Francisco Kaiut
